There is a new Anytime Fitness here on the Westside of Jacksonville FL. It is located at 1523 Chaffee Rd. Jacksonville FL 32221.
I really don't know if this will be a curse or a blessing. Afterall, with this location being like 1/2 block away from my Watson Realty office what excuses can I make? I can't make any because it is just a short walk from my office.
Anytime Fitness has eliminated all my excuses......
- I don't have the time ----It is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This place never closes!
- I hate dirty gyms---- This place is more like a upscale spa! It is so beautiful and super clean!
- I get bored easily ----- You won't get bored here, every piece of elliptical quipment has it's own personal television. You just plug in your headset and enjoy the numerous satellite digital channels.
- I can't afford it ----They're prices are low besides can I afford not to?
They also offer a free fitness evaluation with a certified personal trainer. I haven't used it yet though, I am just not ready for anyone to know how much I weigh and how out of shape I am, LOL!
Glenn who is the owner is there between 10am - 7pm and is very helpful. Just today he tought me how to use a piece of equipment.
They also offer
- Zumba classes
- Low monthly payments
- Corporate discounts
- Access to all other Anytime Fitnesses around the country.

Helpful Household tips, I'll bet that you didn't know about |

I love sharing new things that I come across and these are just great!
I'm sure there will be some things on here that you did not know............
|
A sealed envelope - Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed. (hmmmmmm..) ============ Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords It keeps them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to. ========== For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water and put Dawn dish washing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They won't refreeze. (wish I had known this for the last 40 years!) ========== To remove old wax from a glass candle holder, put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then take the candle holder out and turn it upside down. The wax will fall out. =========== Crayon marks on walls? This worked wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped in baking soda. Comes off with little effort (elbow grease that is!).. ========== Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt BLUE!) rubbing alcohol on paper towel. ============ Whenever I purchase a box of Steel wool pads Pads, I immediately take a pair of scissors and cut each pad into halves. After years of having to throw away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided that this would be much more economical. Now a box of Steel wool pads last me indefinitely! In fact, I have noticed that the scissors get 'sharpened'' this way! ============= Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little hydrogen peroxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every drop of blood. Works every time! (Now, where to put the body?) LOL ========== Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside windows.. This way you can tell which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak. ============ Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on. ======== Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your clothes will smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this with towels and linen. ========= Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours prior to burning . ====== XX To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag and add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers looking like new! Works like a charm! ============ To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stove top.
=========== Spray your TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains. =========== Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks. ============= When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness =============== Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half, and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away. =============
Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces ........ LEFT OVER WINE, WHAT'S THAT? :) ============= To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the area and you will experience instant relief. ============ Ants, ants, ants everywhere ... Well, they are said to never cross a chalk line.. So, get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants tend to march. See for yourself. ============ Use air-freshener to clean mirrors. It does a good job and better still, leaves a lovely smell to the shine. =========== When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, and then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily. ===== Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer...... ... Clean a toilet. Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous China ... ======== Clean a vase. To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets. ============= Polish jewelry. Drop two Alka Seltzer tablets into a glass of water and immerse the jewelry for two minutes. ============== Clean a thermos bottle. Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary). =========== Unclog a drain. Clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka Seltzer tablets down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White Vinegar.. Wait a few minutes, and then run the hot water. ============ ==== Do your friends a favor. Pass this timely (and some not-so-timely) information on to a friend! I just did. Makes you wonder about ingesting Alka Seltzer, doesn't it?

I really think customer service is back in the Jacksonville FL Area |

I really think customer service is back in the Jacksonville FL area. My Mom called me from work to tell me that she felt very sick and was going to the ER after work. My Mom was sick about a month ago and went to see her now fired primary care physician in Jacksonville FL. That's a blog for another time titled "What NOT to do if you want to keep patients".
You see I am the oldest so when my Mom gets sick I take it very seriously. I told Mom to swing by my home and I would drive her out to Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park FL. It's not that I have anything against OPMC they are really a great hospital. I think they have gone completely paperless also I just really do hate emergency rooms. When we arrived my biggest fears were realized. I knew we had at least a 4 hour wait ahead of us from the look of the waiting room.Well maybe not because they are very efficient but I wasn't about to take that chance. Ok when someone is missing a limb of course you don't mind the wait but not this time.
.
It also dawned on me to ask my Mom how much her copay would be for the emergency room visit. She was under the impression that it was $50 and boy was she wrong. Upon closer examination of her medical card I discovered her co pay was a whopping $250 just as I suspected.
Well thanks to my trusty blackberry I was able to look up the urgent care facility Solantic on Kingsley Ave in Orange Park FL. Not only were they less than a block away as the medical assistant advised but they were also open until 9pm. That was my first suprise as I was expecting to hear "But it is too late for us to take any more patients tonight". I was told in a cheery voice to bring my Mom on down. What a relief!

I have heard of Solantic but I had never been there before. Everything from the decor to the staff was absolutely fabulous! It sure didn't look like a medical facility. It was more like a trendy spa of sorts. Purple and Yellow paint colors covered all of the walls. This theme was even carried into the patient rooms. There is actually a colorful menu behind the receptionist desk. Clearly and concisely spelling out procedures and cost. What a novel idea knowing what a procedure will cost you before you actually get it done. I thought this was terrific.
The entire staff was so friendly considering were the last patients of the night. We arrived at about 8:30 and never felt rushed at all. We were treated in a courteous and professional manner that was really appreciated by myself and my Mom.
My Mom was seen by Sally Armistead A.R.N.P. and Mark the M.A.. The entire staff was a joy to visit with.
We are actually confident that with the care and attention my Mom was given that she will be just fine.
I would just like to thank the entire staff of Solantic on Kingsley Ave in Orange Park FL for a job well done.
By the way after testing, my Mom has tonsilitis and the bill was only $55 including the prescription
